WOODWARD 8200-1302
Product Description
The WOODWARD 8200 – 1302 is a digital governor turbine control module, engineered to precisely manage steam turbines. It functions as a core component within an electronic control system, playing a crucial role in regulating the speed and output power of the turbine.

This module features an integrated graphical front panel, which serves as a user – friendly Human – Machine Interface (HMI). The large screen on the HMI enables operators to easily monitor and control the turbine. It offers convenient navigation and clear visualization of various operational parameters.
WOODWARD 8200 – 1302 is equipped with intelligent control algorithms. These advanced algorithms are designed to optimize the performance and stability of the turbine. Key functions include next – generation load rejection handling, which helps the turbine respond effectively to sudden changes in load. It also has critical speed avoidance capabilities, ensuring the turbine operates smoothly without hitting critical speeds that could cause mechanical issues. The adaptive PID (Proportional – Integral – Derivative) control allows for fine – tuning of performance, while the acceleration control ensures smooth startups of the plant.
In terms of connectivity, it can communicate with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) with ease, facilitating seamless data exchange. Additionally, it has two communication ports: one RS232C for communication with a Personal Computer (PC) and one RS422 for interaction with PLCs. This setup enables not only the reading and uploading of programs to the HMI but also the direct uploading and downloading of programs to the PLC, along with adjustment and monitoring functions.
The module also makes use of high – speed counters. For example, C236 calculates the number of pulses for forward and backward movements and converts this data to display the current position of the feed mechanism. C235, on the other hand, is dedicated to carrying out precise positioning tasks.
