Product Description

The Emerson MVME7100 is a high – performance VMEbus single – board computer designed for a wide range of industrial, medical, and defense/aerospace applications. It serves as a core computing unit within VME – based systems, providing advanced processing capabilities and extensive connectivity options.
This module is among the first VMEbus products to utilize the system – on – chip MPC 864XD processor. The on – chip implementation offers advantages in power consumption, heat dissipation, reliability, and life cycle compared to alternative architectures. It is equipped with a 1.3GHz system – on – chip NXP MPC 864XD featuring dual PowerPC E600 processor cores. This dual – core setup enables parallel processing, enhancing the module’s ability to handle complex computational tasks and multitasking scenarios efficiently.

 

The MVME7100 supports up to 2 GB of DDR2 ECC (Error – Correcting Code) memory, which ensures data integrity during operation, especially in mission – critical applications where data accuracy is crucial. It also comes with 128 MB of NOR flash memory for storing non – volatile system firmware and boot code, and options for 2, 4, or 8 GB of NAND flash memory for additional data storage.
