ABB PCS 6000 Wind
Product Name
ABB PCS 6000 Wind Industrial Wind Power Grid-Connected Converter Module
—— A core component of ABB’s renewable energy conversion portfolio, specialized in “wind energy power conversion + grid-friendly integration + harsh environment resilience”. It is designed for onshore/offshore wind turbines (1.5MW-8MW) to convert variable-frequency AC power generated by wind turbines into stable, grid-compliant AC power.
2. Product Description
The ABB PCS 6000 Wind Module is a high-performance wind power converter engineered to address key challenges in wind energy integration, such as variable wind speed-induced power fluctuations, grid code compliance requirements, and reliable operation in extreme weather conditions. Its core functional positioning is as follows:
- Wind Energy Power Conversion Core: As the critical power conversion unit in wind turbine systems, it adopts a two-stage conversion topology (AC-DC-AC). The module first converts variable-frequency, variable-voltage AC power from the wind turbine generator into stable DC power, then inverts it into 50/60Hz AC power that meets grid standards (e.g., IEEE 1547, IEC 61400-21). It supports maximum power point tracking (MPPT) with an efficiency of ≥98.5%, ensuring optimal wind energy capture under varying wind conditions.
- Grid-Friendly Integration & Regulation: Equipped with advanced grid support functions, including reactive power compensation (±0.95 power factor adjustable), voltage/frequency fluctuation suppression, and low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability (complying with EN 50549). The module can respond to grid voltage dips (down to 0.2pu for 625ms) and maintain grid connection, ensuring stable power supply to the grid and meeting global grid code requirements.
