The ABB CI854A is a PROFIBUS DP-V1 interface module designed for the ABB System 800xA automation platform and AC 800M controllers. It provides a robust and high-performance communication interface between the controller and PROFIBUS DP-V1 networks, enabling seamless data exchange with PROFIBUS DP-V1 compliant field devices. This module can function as a Master on the PROFIBUS network. It supports line redundancy and module redundancy for increased system availability and allows for hot swapping. It is often used in conjunction with High-Integrity (HI) controllers within the System 800xA.
